File storages
PeakTMS allows to attach files to resources, activities and projects. The files are stored on a server. The storage place can be defined by your administrator.
In the file server administration you can list all file storages. Currently, there are following types of file storages available:
- DB: The files are stored in the database. This is the default option and does not require any additional configuration.
- Mount: The files are stored in a mounted file system which is available by the running server application. This option requires additional configuration by your administrator.
- FTP / FTPS (depreciated): The files are stored on a FTP server. This option requires additional configuration by your administrator.
The list view
The list view provides you with an overview over all currently registered storages. You can use the table headers to define filters or to change the column width and order. Pressing the column chooser icon will give the possibility to add additional columns, e.g. about the change history.

Overview registered file storages
Create / Edit a file storage
Press the create or edit button. In the upcoming edit mask fill the relevant properties
Depending on the type of file storage the input mask will show different fields. In all cases the field "Name" needs to be filled. It defines the label of the storage shown to the user in the application.
Type DB
In this case no fields need to be filled. The files will be stored in the database in a binary format in tablespace tms_bin.
Type Mount
In this case the field "Path" needs to be filled. It defines the path of the mounted file system which is available by the running server application. The path needs to be accessible by the user which is running the server application.
Type FTP / FTPS (depreciated)
In this case the fields "Host", "Port", "User" and "Password" need to be filled. They define the connection parameters to the FTP / FTPS server. The user needs to have the necessary rights to create, read, update and delete files in the defined path on the FTP / FTPS server.
PeakTMS doesn't support the FTP / FTPS protocol anymore. It is recommended to use the DB or Mount type instead. Already existing FTP settings will still work but might be removed in future versions. When switching to Mount type simply referring to the root folder of the FTP server will be sufficient. The files will be stored and read in the mounted file system instead of the FTP server.
